TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 7 – JAZZ AT JAZID KCC PRODUCTIONS PRESENTS THE RODOLFO ZUNIGA QUARTET WITH SPECIAL GUEST CLAY PERRY
SHOW STARTS AT 11 PM
Moving to the US from Costa Rica, Rodolfo Zuniga quickly earned the position of drummer for the concert jazz band at FIU. With this group he has performed with such guest artists as Paquito D’ Rivera, Arturo Sandoval, Sam Rivers, Diego Urcola, and Kevin Mahogany. He was the teaching assistant for the Jazz Program at FIU and graduated with a Masters Degree in the spring of 2005. While attending FIU he was heard by the Maynard Ferguson Big Bop Nouveau Band, and was offered a position with this band to tour the U.S. He is an active sideman with people like Gary Campbell, Michael Gerber, Alex Norris, Othello Molineaux and Ira Sullivan. He has also recorded or performed with artists like John Fedchock, Dr. Billy Taylor, Jonathan Kreisberg, Darryl Tookes and Claudia Acuna. Currently teaching at FIU, he is one of the most sought-after drummers in South Florida.

Felipe Lamoglia is a saxophonist, composer, and arranger, born in Holguin, Cuba. Felipe worked as a producer on Arturo Sandoval’s latest album, "Rumba Palace", contributing as arranger, performer, and composer, which won a GRAMMY Award in 2008. By the end of 2007 his first solo album, "Dimensions", was released. This project incorporates his Afro-Cuban roots with strong influences of Jazz and Brazilian music.

JAHFE, which means creation, was founded in 2002 by Sasha Sanon, of Haiti, and Esther Fortune (born in Miami but raised in Haiti). They both embraced their Haitian heritage and shared an interest in spiritual growth and raising cultural awareness through the strength and rhythm of their Reggae/Haitian influenced music.
